About the Project
Vocational Training – Tailoring & Handicrafts for Women
The Vocational Training – Tailoring & Handicrafts for Women initiative is designed to empower women through market-oriented skill development, entrepreneurship, and sustainable livelihood opportunities. The program equips women and adolescent girls from rural and marginalized communities with practical skills in tailoring, embroidery, traditional handicrafts, textile crafts, and value-added product development, enabling them to become financially independent and self-reliant.
The training combines technical skills with entrepreneurship, financial literacy, digital marketing, product branding, and business management, helping participants establish home-based enterprises, self-help group (SHG) businesses, or secure employment in the textile and handicraft sector. Such integrated skill-development approaches have been widely adopted to improve women's livelihoods, confidence, and economic participation.
